How LogiMatcher builds logistics research

The goal is useful buyer evidence, not artificial freshness. We prefer primary sources, state what a number represents, keep external datasets attributed, and separate facts from LogiMatcher interpretation.

Primary sources first

Carrier fees, operating rules and regulatory changes should come from the carrier, regulator or original publisher whenever a primary source is available.

Keep datasets separate

We do not average or merge source series that use different definitions simply to create one cleaner-looking number. Source-specific figures stay labeled.

External data is not LogiMatcher data

Survey averages, provider rate cards, market reports and third-party benchmarks are attributed to their publishers. We do not present them as observations from the LogiMatcher network.

Dates require real review

Published and reviewed dates change only when the page is created, materially updated or the underlying sources are checked again.

Buyer interpretation follows the evidence

Research pages explain what a metric may mean for a 3PL buyer, while separating that interpretation from the reported source facts.

Unknown stays unknown

If a provider, carrier or market source does not publish a fact, the page should say so rather than infer a value.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official carrier, regulator, port, government or original research publisher.
  2. Named industry research firms and annual benchmark surveys with methodology or sample information.
  3. Provider rate cards, service guides and public operational documentation.
  4. Independent secondary analysis used for cross-checking, not as a substitute for an available primary source.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent provider ratings, customer outcomes, certifications or warehouse capabilities.
  • We do not turn a national industrial rent statistic directly into a 3PL pallet-storage quote.
  • We do not change a review date merely to make an old page look fresh.
  • We do not describe third-party survey results as proprietary LogiMatcher network data.

Correction policy

When a source changes or a material error is found, the research page should be corrected, its reviewed date updated, and the underlying source retained or replaced with the current official source. Material changes should be noted in the repository audit record.
